Since opening its doors in July, Swagat Indian Kitchen has been making a splash with Miami diners. Yelp reviewers say this is some of the tastiest Indian fare they’ve had in the city, thanks to a menu that focuses on street food from Bombay, in addition to the traditional dishes that are served at most Indian restaurants. If you want to go for the street food experience, head straight to the menu’s chaat section, where you’ll find everything from pani puri (delicate, spherical puffs, flash fried and filled with your choice of sweet or spicy liquid) to Mumbai’s signature vada pav (potato dumplings nestled inside a bun with chutney sauce). Alternatively, you can order a more traditional Indian meal, with naan and dishes like chicken tikka masala and lamb roganjosh.
Regulars note that the staff is attentive, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.
